Review of Fear Itself at the Minnesota Fringe Festival.
Mike Speller

Performing literary pieces on stage – writing that is not designed to be theater – takes a special kind of talent, especially when those pieces were written in an era when people spoke in more than 140 characters. Mike Speller has got that talent in spades. Mike’s rendition of “The Monkey’s Paw” had me thinking of “Button, Button,” the Twilight Zone adaptation of Robert Matheson’s “The Box.” The Bradbury tale he ends with has an elemental terror to it that belies its simplicity. Mike is a consummate artist; I want more.
